Addy's Fancy Dress - Pictures!

Got bored last night, and decided to make something pretty. That's how I roll.

Addy's Fancy Dress. A blue print dress with detatchable undersleeves. I got the blue print in remnants and was determined to do something pretty with it for Addy with undersleeves. After drafting and doodling, I got this.

The bodice. It looks uneven, but that's because it's placketed over. Buttons sewn on by hand. The sash is tacked on in the front, and at the sides loosely. I think I'll add two more tacks near the front of the bodice. The collar might be a little too big, but I think it looks okay.

The undersleeve and oversleeve. I drafted both of them from my dropped sleeve draft; one for under, and one for over. Undersleeves are pretty easy when you think about it--the hardest part was putting in elastic. Unlike most of what I make for Addy, the undersleeves have snaps on it. I mostly velcro her stuff.

The undersleeve all by itself. Just a sleeve without a cap, and elasticed. One is a little looser at the top than the other, but it doesn't show when under her dress. When I make her more dresses that need undersleeves, these can easily go under them.

Naomi is going to get a pair of jeans later, and a matching shirt. I just need to sort through my jeans and figure out which ones are too messed up to wear anymore, or pick up a cheap pair at a thrift store.

Your pictures really make me want an Addy!
The only dress of hers that I really love is her meet dress and her Cape Island Dress, but seeing all the clothes you make for her, in her time period (I'm kind of a purist) realy show what a beauty she is!
I also really envy your sewing skills as I've had a few failed attempts at doll clothes. I'm much better with people.
